“Interpreting and Technology: Interplay and Transformation” is taking place on 7-9 December 2022
The hybrid conference organised by the Hong Kong Baptist University promises to be an exciting event for interpreters, both established and aspiring; interpreter trainers; researchers; industry watchers; and anybody who is curious about the future of language services.
There will be presentations on remote interpreting, computer-aided interpreting, ergonomics of interpreting-related technology, impact of technology on the interpreting profession, future trends in interpreting-related technology and more.
You can also expect a lively discussion during a pre-conference workshop featuring three major RSI platforms: GreenTerp, Interactio, and KUDO.
A roundtable on technology-powered interpreting should also be of great interest to those who wish to join interpreting practitioners, trainers, industry representatives and researchers in discussing how their roles and work have been shaped by technology and how they envision a future of interpreting and technology.
Interpreting and technology will not be just one of many topics at a conference; it is THE topic for this event solely dedicated to interpreting and technology.
This is an event not to be missed, if you wish to learn how to thrive in the new world of tremendous technological transformation, how to harness automatic speech recognition-enabled technology to facilitate your interpreting, get acquainted with the tools for remote interpreting out there, and if you are curious about what the future of interpreter-machine interaction may be like.
